To make this air fryer boneless chicken bites in cajun butter sauce, you will need the following handful of ingredients.
- Boneless skinless chicken breast
- Cajun seasoning: this can be homemade or store-bought
- Italian seasoning: substitute with mixed herbs or other favourites dried herbs of choice
- Butter: I used unsalted butter, if using salted butter, be mindful when seasoning the chicken before cooking.
- Honey
- Hot sauce: I used Tabasco but you can use any favorite hot sauce of choice.
- Olive oil: substiute with any other flavorless cooking oil.
- Salt and pepper
How to make cajun chicken bites in the air fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 400F / 200C for 3-5 minutes.
Pat the chicken breast dry with a kitchen paper towel. Place on a chopping board and with a sharp knife cut the chicken into bite sizes chunks and transfer into a bowl
Season the cubed chicken with salt and black pepper, cajun seasoning, and Italian seasoning, drizzle with olive oil, and toss to combine.
Transfer the seasoned chicken cubes to the air fryer basket and spread them out in a single layer. Cook for 8-10 minutes shaking the air fryer basket halfway through.
You will know the chicken bites are cooked when the internal temperature registers 165F /74 C in the thickest part or when it is no longer pink when you cut one open.
Transfer the cajun chicken bites into a bowl and set aside
In the meantime, melt the butter in the microwave, add honey and hot sauce and whisk to combine.
Pour the spicy cajun honey butter over the chicken pieces and toss to combine. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley, serve and enjoy.
Oven Instructions
Preheat the oven to 420F / 220C
Season the chicken as described above
Transfer the seasoned chicken to an oven-safe dish, and bake for 10 minutes.
Remove the baking dish from the oven and stir the chicken, add the butter honey and hot sauce then stir again to combine.
Return the baking dish to the oven and continue to cook for additional 5-6 minutes or until the chicken pieces are fully cooked and no longer pink in the middle.
Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley, serve and enjoy!

How long to air fry chicken bites will depend on the size of the cubed chicken, smaller size pieces will cook faster. For the size used in this recipe, they were cut into 1 ½ cinches and air fried for 8-10 minutes at 400F / 200C.
